Nice one, Chris. But do you know what the condition is like? It's all going to be rather pointless if they're not something you'd ever put your stylus near! ;)

Marco.
I picked them up on Thursday night, an hour after the auction ended - they're mostly in fantastic condition. I wouldn't have risked buying such an unknown quantity if there had been a postage cost attached.
........but for 99p, well, it'd be rude not to, wouldn't it?
Absolutely - that was a result, then!
Marco.
Not much chance of Zweistein 'Trip-Flip Out-Meditation' in that bundle then
Bit of a too good to be true bargain.
Turns out that the seller would prefer payment by bank transfer, and that it's a Romanian account. Bit stinky methinks. Reported it to ebay.

Very cheap for Boulder amps. I'd be suspicious too.
There was a preamp too.

These don't seem like the details of someone from Wakefield. People from Wakefield don't even know where Doncaster is, never mind Romania.
'Congratulations on winning this item! The next step is to pay the seller. Payment method: Bank Wire Transfer. The auction is still protected by eBay for the full amount of £656.00. Bank Business Account NAME (DBA): Catalin-Marian DOBRESCU Bank Name: ING Bank Business IBAN: RO74INGB0000999902488211 SWIFT: INGBROBU Address: Sos. Kiseleff, nr.11-13, sector 1.'
Hmm, now that sounds familiar but I don't think it's Wakefield, isn't that addy somewhere around the Rawmarsh Hill area of Rotherham, Transylvania? :lolsign:Quote:

Maybe his account has been hacked, it happens unfortunately :(
Sounds to me like someone has had their ebay account hijacked yet again  It's pretty common due to laziness in applying decent different passwords...
:mental:
I guess it means I'm stuck with Linn for a bit. The shame of it:lol:
You'll live Mark ;) Just remember it won't sound any worse than it does now
I'll just keep it quiet and tell everyone I've got somethin' fancy with toobs in it.
Ach Mark, you've still got the Tresham to fall back on. I'm looking forward to hearing it in your system actually, it's a decent little pre-amp ;) It will mean having to train your cat to be a remote though :lolsign:
These might be a bargain if they don't go too high

Ah, the old mechanical remote, eh? Post-dates training the dog.
Bagged a Chilton '100S' open Reel Machine with the posh Teak surround.£30.00 :eyebrows:
A hidden gem for the price is the Sansui SR-222 Turntable. Quite a few upgrade potentials. I am surprised it has not been snapped up at that price.
Mind you, the SR-717 listed here is a steal if it is working OK and can get it for peanuts. Highly underrated but a brilliant performer as I remember.

If I was going over that way soon I'd have snapped these up. They look quite pretty for £45 ovno.
Got to be a bit of a bargain if these went for £160.

The Ditton cross-over responds well to upgrades of the caps. I replaced them with higher voltage versions when Maplin sold non-polarized speaker caps.
It's just taken me 4 hours to get home from Ipswich, and the thought of going back that way make me want to swear a lot. Otherwise I'd be posting them as my new speakers.
'33's are mi fav's loike
Tempted to see what it would cost to ship them. Do I really need more teak in my house? And I should be looking for a new pre, not more speakers.
I could do with some more :eyebrows:
It's all junk anyway you may be right
Um
Anyone got £50k free for some tape decks?
Oooooh!... Pure divorce material so if your after becoming free and single again 'BUY IT NOW'

I think Nick (Beechwoods) will faint when he sees this lot
The listing breeches a few eBay rules however. The postage is quoted as £2000 but the seller says collection only. The payment says Paypal accepted, but the seller wants bank transfer, not Paypal.
open baffle project anyone
The drivers are really nice and would make excellent speakers and not so complex to build honest
They cost $700 new so at present price a bargin
I took a look at them earlier & followed the link to the site, there are no specifications that i can see - what use is that?
:eyebrows:
yes but works really well in a open baffle
I can't argue with that :eyebrows:
You know why people go the OB route dont you ;)
Come on tell us Andre
Cos they sound bloody good!
