The Isophons are likely to be rather interesting. The Kolster Brandes not. I had a pair about thirty years ago, cheaply made and not good in my opinion.

They should be pretty nice Grant. I reckon that's the same driver as the System 600 nearfield monitor which sounds just fine. If they're cheap grab them.

Lol. Yes I kinda got that vibe myself tbh. They will probably be badly matched, but you never know. I certainly, and it appears no one else will buy them without hearing them. Sure they have been around for a while.

£170 is pretty good. The smaller System 600 go for over £200 generally and the 637 should have a better bottom end. Don't let me lead you astray Grant, but I reckon you'd be delighted with them. By the way, they will definitely run circles around the IMFs and not wishing to be rude, they'll likely outclass the KEFs too. I've had several pairs of Tannoys using these drivers (i6/DC6i/Sytem 600) and they sound lovely. (OK the DC6i has paper cones, but sounds just about the same)

The IMF's have Kef drivers in now... 200's I think so wont sound standard. I will consider it; funnily I think I might know the guy, and thats kinda putting me off a little.

Yes they are very nice but i want to build something in 2 different colors of hardwood. I have a few thoughts running around in my head but i want to sell mine first and see what cash i have to play with.

was that the one with the tip16 arm? looked to be a nice deck, and came with a decent cart as well if memory serves. might have been the arm that put folk off but the tip16 is a good arm.

I wanted a 150 really but to be honest i liked the plinth on this and its only an hour away to collect so just went for it. Will either re-sell it or sell my project debut 2 once ive had a play.
