Other half wants to buy me a evening dress watch for my birthday but I/we have no idea where to look that won't rip us off, any suggestions would be welcome, I've been told up to £1000 but would prefer it to be a lot lower, but she's paying :-)

If you’re going for pre owned have a look at Watchfinder’s website, some nice pieces sub £1000. If you’ve an idea what brand / model you’re after do a Google shopping search for it and find the best price from the bigger jewellers and don’t forget to look for any valid money off vouchers on line. As it's for evening wear, to wear with a black tie and dinner jacket, then I would suggest a watch with hands and a black leather strap would be appropriate.Quote:

Whatever you buy, just make sure it is not a diver's watch with a chunky bracelet, or a digital watch - they would look totally 'naff'.
