Amazing the things you can learn watching Ewe Tube.
So before I start my Wool Ball project I decided to investigate another Wool based material - Felt!
Felt is manufactured from Wool and the fibres are rearranged via a water agitation method. This is 100% Wool but in a different and probably more usable form.
I have decided to use double layers of felt under the turntable motor and turntable feet in order to reduce/remove vibration bing transferred from the motor and into the turntable via the feet. This is very audible if I turn up the volume but previously I had mitigated this issue using sorbothane. Tonight I will evaluate the Felt and its effect on vibration transfer.

Well very quickly as soon as I had all the system powered up it was obvious the Felt failed to achieve what I wanted, in fact it made things worse!
Ah well you got to try these things.
Lets hear what the giant wool balls can do when I get them sorted!
at least you didnt type felt giant balls:D
I think it was Eric Morecambe who used to say he had "a long felt want", but we never did get to see it! :D
