I thought that one of my newly-acquired classical CDs might be just the thing for a Sunday morning, and I was right :) What is surprising me is just how much is sounding familiar - my brain must have been absorbing it all those years ago while i thought I was just tolerating it.

Rather than listening to the largely depressing news on the radio, I have been inspired to copy Steve's brilliant idea of playing the Beethoven Violin concerto.
But I'm going to play Anne-Sophie Mutter's performance with the New York Philharmonic, cond. Kurt Masur.

Excuse my ignorance Barry, but is the one you are playing a different piece of music to mine, or the same but from a different composer/orchestra? These are the kind of things that confuse me.Quote:

ludwig van only did one violin concerto interestingly so same music played by different soloist and conductor/orchestra by looks of it
