In reference to that Bells. It's been a belting bottle, it's not your standard Bells and cannot be bought any more. It was given to me on my 40th from a family friend of my mother in law, it was their fathers. So god knows how old it actually is... I'm sad it's now empty.
For an interesting peaty whisky, the Smokehead ticks a lot of boxes
My old friend andy(long dead) would only drink Bells. Was t my cuppa in the day. Not tried it since tho. My dad's staple was grouse and highland park.Quote:

I would not buy it at full price.
I am travelling through an airport, and they had an offer on. So I bought the Mrs a bottle of perfume. This gave me 50% off a basket up to €300. So I took this and a bottle of Highland Park 16 Wings of an eagle travel edition or something.
The Mrs will be happy that I thought of her, but not as happy as I hope I will be with these purchases.
On the downside, the flight is delayed.

If that shares the same characteristics as the Hibiki 17 you are in for a treat. I was lucky enough to sample the 17 and it was very good. It made me more aware of Japanese whisky. The only problem.is that the 17 YO is prohibitively expensive, IMHO.Quote:
