Just found this too EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER RARE 1974 BRITISH TOUR POSTER
First gig I ever went to was Queen at the Free Trade Hall Manchester (26th November 1975). The ticket was a 13th birthday present.
They did two concerts that night - one at 6pm and one at 9pm. My mum would only let me go (with my older cousin and a few of his mates) if we went to the early one so we could get home on the train easily.
I really can't remember my first gig - it might have been The Farmer's Boys at St Andrew's Hall who were a moderately successful local band where I grew up in Norwich.
First single was the 1980 re-release of Imagine after John Lennon was murdered.
First single was:

...what happened to the 'Last Concert' sticky ?
First record was Beach Boys, Good Vibrations in 1966? for something like 1/6d
First live concert at the Weston Super Mare Winter Gardens, Rory Gallacher. I went straight out and bought Live in Europe!
Happy days:)
Hi Will - there were getting far too many stickies in the music room, so a decision was made to amalgamate a few and get rid of some others (as stickies) - so First Concert/Last Concert have been merged - if there is any major objection to this we can of course have another look at the situation. And sorry - we probably should have made this clear to people.
First live gig was Arthur Brown at Kingham Hall and first album was Vanilla Fudge, Near The Beginning.
Hi Alex, given that the thread is still called...
First Live Gig & First Record Bought
...this is indeed confusing.
One was a sticky about current live gigs and peoples reviews & tips thereof, the other is a wander down memory lane, which is nice but not really the same thing ;)
