It's taken me quite a while, but finally got around to using bottled water instead of tap.
I have a few bottles of Tesco "Elmhurst" water left over from my latest batch of home-brew (been using it for beer making for my last four batches - smoother, less of the typical home-brew "tang").
Bloody hell - two cups of coffee this morning, better crema and far smoother taste.
I'm going to have to do this from now on, highly recommended :)
good quality water is a game changer guy. i filter my tap water and the filter then adds magnesium to it. this gives a really much better crema and flavour(in my opinion and many others)Quote:

I think that I will stick to the bottled water for the moment as I use it quite regularly for my home-brew.
We are quite short on counter top space in the kitchen and my wife gets a bit annoyed with the space that my coffee maker takes up :( - I can get away with bottled as I store that in my log cabin.
I started using bottled water for beer as, apparently, chloramines in tap water can give beer "off flavours", I guess the same is true with coffee:)
