The final “Tell Me There’s A Heaven” even more poignant now, and I had forgotten how much I enjoy this album.

I doubt very much if there will be any ATTL going on today with my plays :D

Wow, cool mum - mind you, my mum used to like my Orbital and Renaissance the Mix albums.

The ones Mike listed (Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Orbital, The Orb, I would also add Underworld), were giants in the 90s, and still sound relevant today.

I explored this for the first time a few weeks ago (only 50-odd years late but never mind!) Really liked it instrumentally, just felt that Jon Anderson's vocals were a bit detached, like he's a singer-songwriter whose melodies were being bolted on to a rock band. I went on to explore Close To The Edge and felt the components were much better integrated. May still buy TYA though.

FWIW Burning Shed are selling vinyl copies of TYA and CTTE signed by Bill Bruford for £40 each. I hope this doesn't mean he's fallen on hard times.

Never too late Pete :)

I was a big Yes fan back in the day, saw them a few times too and on another of my cycle home jaunts from Leicester's De Montfort Hall, I got to meet Rick Wakeman. He called the hangers on ‘for autographs folk’ into the band dressing room, but all he wanted to talk about was football, so I was a bit out of my depth! Nice bloke though and kind of him to invite us backstage.

Relayer is probably my favourite Yes album and I only play the early stuff. I have seen the later incarnations of the band, but that's not Yes. I lost interest after Tormato, when Anderson and Wakeman left around 1980. Nerdy little known fact, after Anderson & Wakeman left, Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes from The Buggles joined the band, Horn did vocals on the Drama album and toured with them - Downes replaced Wakeman on keyboards.

My music tastes are more obscure (cool ?) than my kids, age 29 - 36 :lol:

I've tried -

Enigma - MXMXC a.D.
Hania Rani - Ghosts

Both quite reasonable. I had heard a couple of the usual suspect Enigma tracks but hadn't even heard of Hania Rani. I think she might be a grower / worth exploring more.

That's a tough one, but I guess the first album with Rick Wakeman - Fragile. If you don't like that, then probably no need to go any further. Although Drama with Trevor Horn is a very different sound, a bit more rock than prog, but they only did that one before the original band broke up. My knowledge ends there as I never bothered with them after that.
