1981 - got this on CD and vinyl. Some very beautiful playing on it.
Sorry - I just can't get on with Pat Metheney. There's no doubt about his skill, it's what I call 'easy listening' jazz that I dislike.

Shame really this is not available in any other format (that I am aware of). It's crackin'! The interplay is such that (even without the visual) you can tell they are having a blast. It is less sweet and more raw. Perhaps, it would seem, they wanted to direct her into more "chanteuse" territory, maybe she wanted to go that direction. But here, Diana, Anthony (Wilson, gtr), Robert (Hurst, bs) and Peter (Erskine, drms) just... ...play. Highly recommended (while also acknowledging "each to his own"). I have to agree. Pat Metheny Group is one thing. Pat Metheny sans the "Group" can be anything.
