welsh supermarkets are fuming that the govt have now said at 11th hr that no essential items may be sold, but havent said what they are and how you block people from buying them without fights breaking out.
im inclined to agree, and think the welsh govt have lost the place..
you say cant buy a lightbulb coz its not essenial, so you fall down stairs:doh: how do these folk get these jobs?
Yeah, they've gone too far there, I think. Luckily we only use supermarkets for buying food and drink, toiletries and cleaning items, very little else - all unquestionably essentials.
It'll certainly make the checkouts in the likes of Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's a dam sight speedier, as one of my pet hates are the idiots who buy tons of kids clothes and hold everyone else back in a queue, while the assistant removes the bloody hangers and security tags!!
I've always said that there should be separate tills for all that pish.
Marco.
It's a pointless, futile excersise. The numbers may be high in places but are also low in others.
All that will happen is economy gets screwed again and when lifted it will happen again. Eventually people will die of food shortages, insanity or be shot rioting.
Imo govts are just trying to cover their arses and hide behind ropey science which has proved it doesn't work long term
Glad you're coming round now to my way of thinking....;) I've been saying the same thing for months!
One thing it'll do though, is stop folk going for 'jollies', just to get out of the house, as happened in garden centres during the spring, with all the sheep queuing up for sun loungers and parasols...
TBH, *if* (and it remains to be seen), the knock-on effect of the two week 'firebreak' results in more normality over Christmas, it'll be worth it - BUT it all depends on what the 'exit strategy' is!

Have they got Christo in to do that?
I can remember when Sunday trading came in, but some items were not allowed to be sold - so the local stores covered up those items, making them look a bit like the picture above.
Yes, they could only sell booze 1200 to 1400, before and after that the drinks isle was roped off.
