Btw, I was out for lunch with my dad yesterday at a nice little country pub, and we finished off with a couple of double espressos, only to find out that (unbeknown to me) there was a specialist coffee roasting company just down the road!

We had their '1839 Espresso Blend' and it was lovely, but as you can see from their shop, they've got some other interesting stuff! It's bad timing, unfortunately, as I've just had a load in from my usual supplier, but as soon as that's finished I'll be trying some beans from Lost Barn.

The good thing is, I can collect it from their shop, which is only a 15-min drive from my house, thus save on carriage charges!:)

I only drink black coffee (fresh not instant) so it’s not much to look at (freshly ground Rich Italian from Taylor’s of Harrogate today) but do you like my “weekend” mug? [emoji846]

What Espresso machines y'all using?

Figure I've had enough Nescafe in my life.
Enjoyed my Mokka pot, up till "someone" (i.e. Me) lost the internal filter.
Kettles on the fritz too, its time.

Have a good grinder already, Sage smart grinder pro, so that box already ticked.
Have a couple of specific models in mind, and will be speaking with the guys at Bella Barista on whats best for me.
Been reading forums too, getting a general picture of it all.
Curious what general usage of the AOS Coffee Mafia is.

Can't help you there Gary as I never drink expresso.

I use a Mokka pot and the beans come from Cameroon which I will grind, enough for a few days at a time.

But I'm sure either Grant or Marco will regale you with the recommended paraphernalia needed to make espresso coffee.

Hard to bypass sage machines and this dual boiler will do you nicely; at a price. ive the cheaper one and its been faultless really.

Nice... Is it vintage? Looks like it:)

Btw, your fresh black coffee looks really nice (I can tell by the depth of the colour, that it'll have had a rich flavour). The only reason we can make ours look 'fancy' is because being pressurised machines, they develop crema, and also nice frothy milk if you like cappuccinos!

But, as Gaz knows with his Moka pot, you can still make tasty black coffee without a thick crema.
