I'm not into watches as I know very little about them so would really value you guys opinions. I have around 700 to buy a reliable watch to last me a long time. What do I need to consider? I like the idea of a mechanical or automatic watch and I like that smooth movement on the seconds hand. I've been looking at Tissot seastar 1000 powermatic 80 and also some of the seikos around that price. Also like the look of the Nite ones.

Try the Gnomon website is amazing value, lots of watches around the £500 mark. Seiko also do some nice mid range watches, though the movements aren't so tight, reliable, but lose about 2 minutes a week, that may not bother everyone though. The Tissot is I think 43mm, you may want something around 40mm if you have small wrists.Quote:
