That tyskie was better than I thought it would be. Morrisons lad that delivered it was polish and said it was not bad although not their no one.
It was about 40 years ago, I was living in Germany at the time and one of the bars I went to sold that Belgian beer for some reason, the brewery was just over the border, after seeing round the brewery it was a free bar, which was a big mistake.Quote:

Interesting - when I visited the Munich Oktoberfest many years ago (which surprisingly is not held in October), all the beer (that is lager) was served in 'steins' which are about a litre in volume; roughly 1 and 3/4 pints. We had no problem drinking such volumes. ;)Quote:

I always drink alcohol-free beers if I have to drive. But they never taste the same as proper beer; and I have tried quite a few.
Discovered this in Aldi and thought I would give it a try:
Sainte Etienne, Premium Lager Beer
If you like Continental light lagers that are uncomplicated and easy going, then you will probably like this one. It's inoffensive, and seemingly knowingly middle of the road. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel or offer obscure flavour notes. It's trying to be an average lager and it does that brilliantly.
Brewed specially for Aldi, and intended to rival Stella Artois, it gets surprisingly good reviews:
