If it let in water a few months ago, and you haven't yet had it serviced, it's probably destroyed inside anyway.

Almost identical.
I’m wearing this chrono today (made by Panerai)

Very nice!
Although why they didn’t show it was made by Panerai on the watch face I don’t know.

That’s really nice Roy. Was just checking to see how much one would be, clucking bell, I had no idea....think I’ll go lie down for a bit.

Sounds like you done alright there. Do the things typically appreciate in value over time or drop? Are they an investment as such?
Not so much with Panerais, I buy them because I like the marque. There are some sought over Rolex models that sell for more than retail; the green 'Submariner' is a case in point. If you can find one retail they're around £7k but good second hand ones sell for more than £10k!
But for the poor attitude of the sales person I would have bought a two tone stainless steel/gold submariner before xmas, not as rare as the green one but still worth snapping up if you see one. First thing she said to me when I asked about it was 'We don't do credit on Rolex's'...

Looked in on and off, never posted, don’t know why, some nice stuff on show, today I’m wearing.
Why it’s added at that size I’m not sure, anyone?
Hee hee.
Total bling, but as I have no taste I think it looks awesome.
It keeps good time as well.
Manual/self winder, no batteries needed.

That's beautiful!
Added another, I've been fancying a Invicta automatic divers watch for a while then saw this green one whilst in Florida and fell in love with it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...35b522a260.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a2ad7591a9.jpg
The green bezel with the black dial is a nice combo!
I have a number of ‘Grand Divers’, fairly inexpensive & reliable with their Seiko movement

There is no substitute for a time piece on my wrist .Its essential for work as I need to know the time regularly and quickly. I cant understand why anyone would want to pull a phone out of their pocket for that function.
However I have never seen the need to spend more than £100 on a watch and I would not have an analogue date function because they need resetting too often ( I dont know whether expensive watches solve this issue)
Smart watches leave me cold as I dont need one.
I buy what I use. A divers watch for evening wear seems very odd to me. When I had divers dials on cheaper watches I never used them. Same with multi dials.....you will hardly use them so it just clogs up the face. Its all bling and it doesnt impress me :) Taste is simplicity.
Sekonda £29.95 ....Job Done :D
I'm inclined to agree. I have two watches: a 48 year old Rolex Oyster worn everyday and which keeps time correct to 15 seconds a year; and a gold square-cased Bulova Acutron with a black leather strap worn with a dinner jacket when the occasion arises.
Whilst I admire the aesthetics of vintage watches and appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into their making, I can't really see the point in collecting them: you can only wear one at a time and they all need to be wound up regularly for them to keep good time. I certainly don't need any stopwatch or tachymeter facilities.
Liked using a Pocket watch. Safer as I used my hands inside tvs etc.
But a phone nowadays does everything. Swiss army knife type bit of kit, even if its not terribly nice craftsmanship compared to a quality analogue watch
Parade officially pissed on lol, I have seen the error of my ways after your wise words gentlemen and shall sell my entire collection except for the crappy 20 quid casio that does all you need.
I bought this Chinese watch a few months ago for £40 in a good jewellers. Best time keeper I've ever had and very well made.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c1c21ab64d.jpg

Lovely collection of Invictas Roy, now I own one I can see the attraction, quality at a very reasonable price.
