Yes, this arm is equipped with adjustment for VTA and VTF on the fly so it is very convenient indeed.
I can't believe how much these things are going for on the used market at present.
The MA-505 was regarded as "acceptable" in the mid eighties, but not as good as a fixed headshell arm like the Ittok, Alphason or Missions or Zetas. The extras were judged "clever-clever" rather than practical..
Once, I admired Linn, yet the stranglehold they had on the UK turntable scene was so intense with blinkered dealers like me..... :steam:
I think this thread should have a porn warning for those with weak tickers . . . I've got a strong ticker, but even it flutters whenever I look at this thread . . .

Two years ago, when I still had the Graham Slee Era Gold V in my residence, I always thought it was small. But wait; wait until you see this tiny baby. If you think your phono stage is quiet, wait until you hear this stealth fighter, it is as silent as the grave.
I have had it for a week and have only listened to it for about 20 hours. It is not fully burn-in yet but my first impressions are superb in every respect, only not as open and sweet sounding in the treble compared with my modified Cambridge 640P but I will give it more time before my final conclusion.

I use the Technics SP15 most of the time, not because it is the best, but a convenience to use as swapping and comparing cartridges would be a piece of cake, all the three tonearms have different effective arm mass and detachable headshells hence all cartridges can be accommodated and catered for easily . My favorite arm and cartridge should be the Micro Seiki MA505S tonearm and modded Denon 103R cartridge at the moment.
