If you're ordering other bits from RS, this 2.1mm plug-n-lead is available -
2.1mm DC Adaptor Cable (294-7030)
It's a great idea to try linear if you are also going to try the passive output mod.
Stan, did I remember correctly you saying that 15-16V 3A would be fine for the linear power supply. If so I came across these, I've not seen regulation as good as this, 0.25 mV RMS ripple! http://www.acopian.com/store/9-(7).aspx model A15MT300 (15-15.5 V 3 A). For $215 it's a bit more than your CB power supply but 0.005% regulation :stalks::stalks:
... plus $25 for 230V option. Ugly as hell but if it works. One question though is if it hums at all ?
Good question. I'm trying to see if there is a UK based distributer to get hold of a sample to see what they are like. Spec's though are amazing!
Are you trying to crack a nut with a hammer:eek:? The Mastech HERE is almost as good and a mere fraction of the price. If I could get hold of these in the UK or they did a 240V version I would get a few.
