He was good in the Beiderbeck Series and When the Boat Comes In, but wasnt overly enamoured at his other stuff bar likely lads. Its a shame folk get overly up themselves about the acting that made them. A number of the Carry On gang, kenny Williams especially, were like that, as was john Laurie about Dads Army. Think they are better than they in fact are. Preferred Kenny Connor and Babs Windsor's attitude..

'Ender's Game' 2013
I don't know what the original pitch for this film was, but 'Starship Troopers crossed with Harry Potter' is probably not far off. Which sounds promising but instead it is one of those films where the entire plot and ending is entirely predictable almost from the off. Harrison Ford tries really hard, but when even Han Solo can't save the situation, you know you've got a lot of trouble on that ship.
And can someone explain why it is 2013 and CGI in sci-fi films still looks like they just put in some animation shots? Why is it that in 2001: A Space Odyssey does it look like they went into space and filmed a space station when similar shots in this film look like an early 'Nineties arcade game? 44 years separates one from the other.
