Grunge had left hard rock behind; their original bassist left; and their original drummer died prematurely. Astbury and Duffy weren't on good terms. So what do they do?
It's their 'Physical Graffiti' or 'Exile On Main Street'. Too long and too loose, and patchy, but there are some real gems in here. It deserves a reappraisal.

Whenever there are retrospectives on Britpop I think Echobelly get overlooked. They had two cracking albums at that time and the B sides of their singles were essential as well IMHO.Quote:
