I just found out Fettercarin is a Whyte & Mcackay product , same a Jura and the Dalmore .

It is indeed. One if the oldest too and AFAIK the only one to use irrigator rings on the still neck. This cools the column and causes the spirit to be lighter and purer.
Can't do this tonight, it's just not the night for for a whiskey best paired with a Limburger cheese and onion on burnt rye sandwich.

Same here - I've never liked them, but only until quite recently, mostly from reading your posts on the subject, I didn't really know how to avoid those types of whiskies:)
It's a personal taste thing, though. In general, I'm not a fan of smoked flavours, unless it's subtle. That includes meats or cheeses.
