You’d hate living near me then Joe! Barbecue virtually every evening in the warmer months and have an outside music system... mind you, never had any complaints, and the neighbours often pop in for a glass of vino or a beer when they hear it! To be fair, it’s never played really loud and we’re a couple of hundred yards away from a recently closed social club who used to make a LOT of noise so my noise pollution was insignificant!Quote:

Showing mutual consideration, tolerance and respect towards each other, is ultimately what it's all about. The 'fuck you, I'll do what I like, regardless' attitude, is primarily what's wrong with today's society, and what causes so many problems.

We tend to have a oouple of biggish bbq's a year with maybe 20 friends which go into late night but we are very respectful to the neighbours and don't play the music loud. We have the fire pit going as well which can smoke a bit at first but it's fine once it gets going

Yebbut don't you live in a detached house with no near neighbours? We have houses both sides and behind us, so there are at least five gardens nearby with barbeque noise potential.Quote:

The reality, of course, is that the modern houses surrounding our lodge are largely bought/privately owned and populated either by retired couples, who don't say 'boo to a coo' (make zero noise), or young families with children, all of whom are very well behaved:)

Mentioned in another thread that my daughter (aged 10) was making cup cakes for her Guide leader’s birthday party. Her guide leader is called “Mole” so this was her idea for the cakes. Brilliant!
