Modern phones will last 7 to 10 days on a single charge. Assuming normal use i.e only used for brief, essential conversations and emergencies.

Yup but mine needs charged every day. Sometimes twice.
It's often my connection to world.

What if you forget to charge it? The point is, it's another thing to have to remember, whereas my landline phone just sits there, ready to be used 24/7, without having to think about it:)

It beeps to remind you it needs feeding. You don't forget to feed your cats, do you?

I've still got a landline but not used it in years. The rubber on the keys has perished so although it does still work you have to stab at them with a pen to get it to register.

I bought one a few years back off of ebay for 99p but that packed in after a short time. The ringer is switched off anyway. I could switch it back on now and I guarantee within ten minutes someone trying to flog me some tat will call. Can't be doing with it.

I like the idea that they have been calling me repeatedly for years and at their end the phone is ringing out but at my end nothing happens.

Do you/did you get a lot of nuisance calls? We get no bother with that crap at all. There are steps you can take to sort it, such as registering with TPS: https://www.virginmedia.com/help/hom...nuisance-calls

Is your landline with Virgin? We've also got call barring, and caller display, so if I don't recognise the number and/or I'm too busy to take the call, I ignore it and it goes straight to voicemail. Nuisance callers very rarely leave messages;)

So are you still paying for your landline, despite not using it? You should get it cancelled.
