so did you get the new tyres then marco?

I rebuilt some Girling 14LF callipers yesterday, with a full set of new seals, and stainless steel pistons.
This should stop the sticking piston issue I had due to corrosion.

It was fun trying to remove the stuck piston.

Looking not bad for a car that's now 12 years old... Not one bit of rust anywhere [considering it sits outside in all weathers, 24/7], and paintwork in tip-top condition:cool:

Cheers, mate. I spent about 5 hours on it yesterday whilst Del was having Face Time (on social media) with her friends, so often use the opportunity to disappear;)

I like this era of Mercs, and those shortly after it, but I'm not really into their new stuff, which I find has gone too 'bulbous' and blingy, especially inside!:doh:

Thing is, the ride isn't hard, as you might expect, but really pretty smooth and comfy (especially on these Michelins), even with the sports suspension, but when you want to thrash it around, the grip is there, and for a saloon car, hugs corners like a limpet. It's rock-solid and doesn't drift.

Del grins/giggles like mad when I do that or go fast (but safely) on an appropriate road, as she loves it... Always up for a thrill;) I can just imagine what she'd be like in Kevin's Caterham!!:eek:

Anyway, cheers, the Brabster's looking good... Got to keep it clean, as the resident princess won't get into a dirty car, so the inside needs to stay as spotless. Yet (if I give in and allow it) she'll happily sit and eat chips, and if any fall on the floor, guess who has to pick them up...:doh:

I'm too soft - she really needs a damn good spanking!:D

Yeah, rubber tyres get heavier as they travel faster, so doubt the car could spin then at any great speed. also the ride would be rough:eyebrows:

I wouldn't allow anyone to eat in my car. Anyway it is Happy who washes and valets the car. :)

Princess chips indeed... Thing is, if we're out somewhere and she WANTS CHIPS, if I don't give in, it's :wah::wah: ... And I won't hear the end of it!:doh:

Yeah she's fine... BORED, but fine. She's actually tidying her room!! :wowzer: <Shock/Horror> but counting down the days until she can get out and see her pals again:)
