Two disappointments.
James Patterson, 'Cross Justice'. Patterson is usually OK, but this was predictable, a bit twee and the ethnic angle overdone.
Alfred Bester, 'The Demolished Man'. Sci-Fi, written in 1953. Probably fairly original in its day and Bester is a respected writer, but the 'cleverness' turned this into a bit of a disjointed ramble.
I need something to cheer me up after those. Maybe a bit of Chuck Palahniuk or Carl Hiaasen, I'll have a look around.
