A fine band seemingly enjoyed by young and old alike.
"The Night of the Witches" on Saturday night - Halloween. In Brighton at the Marlborough Theatre as part of the Brighton Early Music Festival. http://www.bremf.org.uk/ Great fun from a highly talented bunch of young musicians. Set us up nicely for a Halloween night in Brighton (where they really go for it!).
The Unthanks at Margate theatre last week. Lovely old theatre it was too. Great acoustics.
The band themselves were on fine form. Played a spellbinding version of 'Annachie Gordon' and also an understated 'Shipbuilding'. I'm fast becoming a big fan.
By fluke seen him twice this week, Monday in Manchester at Albert Hall, almost front row and then at Sheffield on Friday at the arena front row both amazing.
Harry Manx at the Earthbeat Centre in Saltburn last night. Fantastic and lovely chap he is too.

Slayer and Anthrax in Leeds last night.
Great thrash metal reunion with a bunch of guys I used to go to metal gigs with, the last time these five were all in the place was at least 20 years ago.
What a night, we got drunk and thoroughly deafened and enjoyed moshing like we were teenagers again.
