yup he used a guy all way in falkirk. not that far tbh but he was less than half price of rover dealer for labour. loved the big boot and 2 pice tailgate, even if it did rust

I came across this beauty while doing a bit of random web surfing. It's the 1972 prototype for A series Opel Manta, very good looking car. The actual A series was a great looking car but this was stunning. I suppose the cost was too high to mass produce it, what a shame.

Yes very nice. A bit of an e type in style. Lotus too I think. (first pic) Mantas were good fun

Weren't they a Vauxhall cavalier underneath? Vauxhall later did a similar thing putting their Cavalier in a smart new outfit and calling it a Calibra. i thought the Calibra looked great, and lusted after one of their turbo models, which I once got a ride in :)

That narrow angle V4 engine was fairly unique. Nice! Hope he won't need body or trim parts, as bits for the Zagato versions are incredibly hard to come by.

yeah, cavalier also had coupe. the firenza came out of the viva shell.. used to have the firenza and a cavalier. also passed my test on an old viva way back, as driving school used it

As I recall, the later Mantas were built on a shortened Opel Ascona floorpan/chassis and the Cavalier was basically a rebadged Ascona. I had three GTEs, but didn't like the Calibra.

cavs came frome the asconas yes.. there are 3 floorpans for cavs depending on age. newest were off the opel vectra

My fav performance tyres by a country mile: great grip in both the wet and dry, nicely 'responsive' in a sporty way, and for low-profile/performance designs, quiet and comfortable!:cool:

Not cheap though at around £200 each in 255/30/R19.
