To be honest the duff pair were in mint condition with exception to ear pads with flat spots in which i have replacements ready ;) , this second pair are not in good shape, i can then make a perfect working set in mint condition out of the two tho..between the two i paid hardly anything so i'm not too fussed..

Use of my 'sad geek' radar identified these as Goodmans 440 High Impact Monitors and I was right! Just down the road from me and £1.78 for a big cabinet, 12" bass driver and some lovely eighties black ash wrap was too good to miss. Naturally they need re-foaming and a bit of TLC but i'm happy.

Now if only I can find a pair of the 880s, which had the 15" bass driver and 8" midrange....;)

I once managed a receiver & a pair of speakers for 99p & picked 'em up from just a few miles down the road.
I dumped the speakers but I still use the receiver.

Fair enough some 70'S and 80'S stuff goes for peanuts now fair enough only pick it up if its reasonalble quality the JVC is R-S11l. the whole lot was £5.00
still it has a built in tuner so i can listen to the coast at night :lolsign: im no playing Stereo MCS (Connected ) not sounding to shabby i also picked up an old pioneer SA-530 for 99p.

Madness, i picked up a complete working piece of plastic crap of a CD player with the very same laser & a mechanism for less than £30 delivered :eyebrows: That gives me a spare motor to spin the disc etc as well :rolleyes: Plays any CDR perfectly, that says it all...

I guess i should be glad that people don't do any research on things :cool:

I've always wanted one of these, and this one is minty with a hardly used original stylus. Not bad for £27.00, when I know just how good these sound....! :eyebrows:

Nice One Marco, shame about the mark on the model number label just under the mounting lugs, this always happens cos people are just careless :) ...Now if you ever see an 'XLZ-7500S' with 'PLZ' at a cheap price snap that up :eyebrows:

The modern Pickering headshells are not bad. I use one to mount my GE RPX cartridge.

Got outbid on this in the last second - I bid £87 after too many sherbets last night, and have no need of any of it, but I was very intrigued by the JVC receiver - top of their range in 1977-79 and 120W RMS per channel!

Yes, you're right, got confused with some Technics kit I was also looking at - the JVC was 1976-78.

A friend of mine back in 1975 or so had one to drive his IMF Professional Monitors. It was a muscular receiver, very brutish.
