Anything with Kenneth Branagh as a central character or made by him risks being a complete disaster IMO, especially films directed by him. I think I'm in a minority thinking that though . . .
Looking forward to Godzilla Minus Zero too.
My only issue with The Odyssey is them using the word Dad! I mean come on it's ancient Greece surely it's father.
I'm dreading any more modern phrases, see if they say "you got this" I'm walking out!!!
I used to pickup someone to attend day care when I worked part-time for a care home after I retired from the Fire Service, he had been evacuated from Dunkirk. He never told any stories but knowing he'd been there was enough for us [emoji6]
Always one to check my work me, so I'm watching the 1958 Dunkirk in a mo. Must be over 20 years since I've seen it, probably a lot more.
Did you like 1917 Martin, if you've seen it that is?
I think it's an extraordinarily good film Martin - I saw it 6 times at the cinema and a few times at home since then. I still have the cinema tickets to prove it.
I just watched Nolan's Dunkirk again, so I've done both in two days.
EDIT:
Got 1917 wrong, I saw it 7 times as I went to the IMAX for one showing as well. That's proper nerdy :D
I think I said elsewhere that I'm not that keen on Hollywood films: much preferring foreign films. Unfortunately they are rarely shown in a cinema here, and the local film club which did show them closed years ago.
So I have had to aquire DVDs, or Blu-rays of these films to watch. I've just done an inventory of what I have: 687 disks, far more than I thought, so I will have to thin them out.
Get yourself a subscription to BFI or MUBI Barry - neither show typical mainstream Hollywood films or TV drama's like Netflix, they are film focused only, concentrating on Independent and World Cinema.
I have recurring yearly subscriptions to both, I don't subscribe to anything else or have a TV licence. All the world cinema you could ever want between those two :)
