I snapped at this pair of Ditton 15s for £10.99 and picking them up locally on Thurs. Any suggestions for things to check for or tweaks????

I've no idea what I'm going to do with them or where they'll go in the house but thought it worth having anyway. Might stick em on the end of a mini t amp for a chuckle. They might make a canny pair of 'Party' speakers to save my main kit getting trashed when we eventually have our traditional summer knees up:eyebrows:

Yes, that is the earlier, first series Ditton 15. I wouldn't recommend them as party speakers. They were called the Ditton 15 because they only handled 15 watts (which was about average for a speker this size in the early seventies). Later ones could take a bit more power. They are quite efficient and can go pretty loud though, but it would be a shame to blow those lovely HF1300 tweeters. They are one of the most revealing moving coil units ever made and with a nice valve amp the Ditton 15 can sound remakably good. Geoff.

I would agree with every single comment here. I have some 15XR's which I've super tweeked running from a Radford amp and they sound bloody great! So much so I bought a pair of "skipped" 44's off the bay to replace them.

Thanks for this Geoff, i do look after my gear and wouldnt see them trashed (honest guv). From what you've said then I guess they might well be a good match for the mini t at 20w max.... I cant wait to hear them now.

I guess a Tripath type amplifier may suit the Ditton 15s quite well. Geoff.

ah... the remote is possible but you need the Beocenter unit for that to work unfortunately..

With just the cdp you can only play and advance (FF) which is not for some but I found it perfectly fine, takes a little getting used to but the the layout it's a cracking player. I paid £250 for mine.
