Marco.
milk in a jug; stainless steel one. like these...

..use the steam wand to surf just under the surface and the milk will get hot and expand producing either froth or foam depending what you want.
lots of how to's on you tube etc... takes some trial etc to get it right but worth effort. you want the temp to reach about 63c which is when if you hold the jug at bottom it reminds you not to:eyebrows: or use a milk thermometer.. ive one stuck to side of my jug that lights up... but i know what it feels like now so dont really use it
Got the jug already!:)
In terms of milk thermometer, do you mean something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thermometer...0S5FYWMKWJG92H
I like how those clip on. Is that similar to what you've got? Can you get magnetic ones?
Ya, that's what I had intended to do. My electric frother will be redundant and used as a spare. Will watch some Chooby vids and become an unrivalled foam expert!:lol:Quote:

Ok, I've ordered some 'toys' to have a play with, from Amazon, plus that excellent wee milk therny you recommended earlier:)
The last one will be a keeper (as it's a handy no-brainer), but the first two are just to try and see what results I get, and if it works, I'll get something better...

Yeah, should be fine... I've been looking at some of the Pullman handmade/handbuilt stuff [apparently highly rated among aficionados], so will probably treat myself to a 'fancy' one later:
