s'ok i had a simular grinding experience last month with a rare kharki ferro 20/20 amp..i asked the seller if they'd accept a fist full off cash for it, someone got there minutes before with the same idea.. :(
Won this on ebay, I already had it's twin at home :)

Always fancied a 45 SET amp. Just need to decide whether I buy a kit, a complete amp or have one built from scratch.
Me too, good price you paid for that, i've been waiting to hear one of these
here you go, bargain if you're quick!!!!
Floyd Test pressing Dark side of the moon
Was just looking to expand the collection....needless to say, I'm not the highest bidder!!! lol
Bloody hell!!! did you see what it finished at!!!!
I don't own the album in general nor never will.
For somebody near Cambridge, never heard them myself - can be half bad?

Only because he's also selling them on Gumtree for £75 here:
http://cambridge.gumtree.com/cambridge/15/76100115.html
They'll probably end up way more than that on ebay if its left to run. £75 for 15" Goodmans bass drivers and a lot more besides. Got to be worth a punt for someone.
Only 240 units were ever made; making it the rarest item in the Quad stable.

No idea of its performance (apart from it being 80W/channel), but from a rarity point of view, the buyer got it for a bit of a bargain. :)
Now I think I may just have seen it all:
Zappa Album Top Trumps!!

Wow Zappa trump cards! would look nice framed? I may bid.
cheapie speakers
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Floor-standing...item43a62977d8
My first "proper" hifi speakers, though they were long in the tooth even then in 1985! I do keep almost buying some, just to see how they compare these days. But then I'm scared I will realise the last 25 years hasn't actually seen any improvement!
:lolsign:
I had the single driver Wharfedale Chevins when I was a student. Horribly coloured, but they kept me going until my amp developed an earth problem and melted the voice coils. It did me a favour, really.
Not sure it is a bargain, but it is gorgeous, and a genuine "timewarp" turntable. Bet it sounds crap though! ;)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_6057wt_1256
Shame - it looks gorgeous!
I'm not sure about that one but i have a JVC QL-Y5F & it sounds very nice indeed ;)
Wrong thread
Apologies to any unsuspecting possible owners or existing owners of the turntable in question (or it's brethren) - my clumsy remark was really just a reflection that kit that usually looks that gorgeous for such a reasonable price (given the condition, it really is "as new" by the looks of it) sounds rubbish - I have no idea how it sounds, so if it is rather good, then it probably is a bargain, as I doubt you'll ever seen one in that condition again...
Good - someone's bought it - temptation out of my way! :)
Or could be Japan Very Cool!!
Victor Company of Japan:

I think they knew that, LOL!
The cartridge on it was about the best thing about it ;)
Marco.
Here's an interesting one-off:

....nice casework, wrong hemisphere!
Very nice indeed. I wonder if the Accuphase provenance could be proved?
Damn i love ebay :) Not exactly hifi but these will be part of some one day ;) Soon i hope to :)
48 capacitors (new) delivered for £67.50 :D
Nearest on RS is just over £8 each & not BHC
Shame they are not a few volts higher! They are borderline for 7v AC windings as smoothers on 5v rails :-(
Perfect for what i want though, i'm looking at a 4.5 - 5V DC rail with high current :) I had to laugh as when i was working things out i forgot that you get two capacitors for £2.50, so i have actually ended up with 132,000uf per rail when i thought i was going to get 66,000uf :D Bonus :)
You'll have volts on the rails for days after switch off lol!!
Whilst poking around on eBay I found this......... now I have seen it all!
BOX and PACKAGING for Quad 67 CD Player
i know it seems absurd but buying this stuff can push up the value of kit if you are selling and don't have the original boxes anymore, also makes postage a lot easier
Pair of Koss 'Pro4/AA' headphones last night a stonking £6.50 :eyebrows:
i just missed this one tonight, it looked interesting and in very good nick, i only bid on it half heartidly to be honest
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEDWX:IT
Good point, Andy!
I love the 'old school' looks, Jon - kind of Radford-esque.... I reckon that could've been a good one. Nice quality trannies, for starters.Quote:
