Remember buying a Curved Air album once. forgotten the name alas. They were, if memory serves, quite good. Toni Iomi liked them, and thats why I bought it lol
Sonja Kristina was rather nice.
She was indeed, I remember seeing her in when she was in Hair, which of course had the (in)famous nude scene :stalks: :eyebrows: so tame by today's standards.Quote:

The Brook Street Band at St John's, Smith Square yesterday.
They were playing a selection of 17th/18th Century French music and some Handel trying to suggest French influences on Handel's music. There was even a pre concert talk on the topic...
Sadly, all-in-all it was a disappointing performance - but that's live music for you they can't always be perfect.
Not long in from Stacey Kent at Ronnie Scott's - she so obviously loves what she does. A great evening.
She sat out on one number - Alfie - which husband, musical director and saxophonist Jim Tomlinson dedicated to Cilla Black. Very moving.
The support act was loud and played 'free' jazz which might be a bit much for Ms Kent's audience. I enjoyed them though.
King Crimson in Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. Sound a bit rubbish at the beginning. But it gradually improved. Played a set of mostly things up to and including 'Red'. Had a great time with my older brother who introduced me to that stuff many years ago. Robert Fripp is a bit of a curmudgeon however! Next up in October is The Unthanks and Sleaford Mods.
Went up to Newcastle yesterday and went to see Future Islands at the 02 Acadamy. My mate has been banging on about them, "best band at Glastonbury" etc. so we combined a nice day out in Newcastle with the gig.
What a disappointment. Every song sounded exactly the same, the same tempo throughout, and as for the lead singers quite ridiculous dad dancing, well the least said the better. Definitely a flavour of the month band who everyone will have forgot about next year in my opinion. There again, I am 60 so could be I'm just talking bollocks and they're shit hot.
