I need to buy a coffee grinder, budget is about £20.

Hi Ray,

Grant's more up on this stuff than me, but IMO at that price you'd be better off with a hand-grinder (as long as you're not in too much of a hurry to make the coffee), as cheap electric grinders are pretty crap and tend to just burn the beans, making coffee taste really bitter.

I had a cheap electric grinder (blade) which was about 50 years old which was fine until my ex burnt it out on some bread. I was looking for something similar but can't find them now.

That one seems to take a long time to grind the beans.

It's a trade-off, Ray, between convenience and results. If the former is most important, then go for an electric one, but at the budget end of things your coffee will taste markedly better with a hand-grinder.
