Where's the top one taken from? :)
Marco.
Don't know exactly. It was sent to me by a mate some time ago. It's of a german radio station. The console obviously has two EMT 930's, a Telefunken M5 (I think) RtR and lots of Telefunken V72 / V73 line/mic preamps plus what look like a couple of V81 amps. The bank of faders could be Neumann or Eckmiller.
It looks to be a mono setup though unless the cartridges are the ultra rare TSD12. The M5 is usually mono and I would have expected to see either an AEG T7 or Telefunken M10 if it were stereo.
Get one your living room you can dress up as Ming the Merciless
Oh what fun that would be... Not sure that the look would compliment my fave kitten heels, though! :eyebrows:
I love the 'sober and functional' aesthetic (do you know what I mean?) of 1960s BBC control rooms, such as those found during that period in Broadcasting House in London, which the picture of the German radio studio reminded me of :)
Here's an example of what I'm talking about (spot the Tannoys being used for monitoring purposes ;)):

If I had the right sort of room at home, I'd give it the same 'vibe'/aesthetic as that!
Marco.
That 70's studio has more of an Enterprise feel to it.
I know where you're coming from! Do you think 70s? To me, it looks more like late 60s. Those are Tannoy Lancasters, on the stands, n'est-ce pas? When were they introduced? :)
Marco.
Looks like it!
Here's some more vintage BBC control room lurveliness:

Oooh, look - Thorens TD124s... :)
Marco.
Mixing desk and decor look like 70's.
1930' to 50's was the golden age though.
