I got the 'Nice Price' re-issue in about 1983. It's not gatefold. Just a few years later I spotted a near mint original pressing for not a lot at all, so I got it. Quite significantly better sound quality! That woke me up to the fact that the pressing can really matter.
I'd like to look further into 'alt-80s' music, so far I've picked on Dead can dance, This Mortal coil, Cocteau twins, Soft cell, Heaven 17 (ok bit more poppy there), and a few others. Seemed to be a gap between all the post punk stuff like Magazine, The fall etc, to the mid 80s stuff.Quote:
