Yeah, I have the Rathbone/Bruce stuff which was all painstakingly restored. They are fab too, and the pairing is what I grew up with. Bruce bumbles like no-one else.....he liked to loose lead too:eyebrows:Quote:

Just finished....Franklin J. Schaffner film of Francis Ford Coppola's script for Patton(1970) and starring George C. Scott as the man and Karl Malden as Omar Bradley. Michael Bates plays Monty and Ed Binns, "Beetle Smith". pretty much everyone else is unknown star wise and its a credit to the film that it became such an iconic film. One of the great war films this and I watched the Blu-Ray version. This won 7 Oscars including best picture.

Paint your Wagon (1969) starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood. Marvin got a cool million to do this plus a cut which stopped him being in the Wild Bunch. He drank alcohol all through the shoot much to the annoyance of director Joshua Logan, and was permanently drunk during the shoot. Marvin was a bit of a smart alec and unprofessional in many films and nearly got beaten to a pulp by Burt Lancaster on the set of The Professionals a few years earlier for being drunk all the time. Burt was a dangerous and strong guy and would have eaten Marvin alive lol
just got a copy the other day so time to watch it. Not everyone's cup of tea but I have fond memories of watching this when it came out and on the old video tape I once had. This is a very good musical, and one of the last true Hollywood style extravaganzas. Of course it was a big flop, and cost way more than it should have, but its enjoyable all the same, not least for Marvin's no 1 hit Wanderin' Star and the fine singing voice of Eastwood in the likes of Elisa. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band do Hand me down that can o' beans as well, and all have roles in the film.
