'Uncle Buck'
The great John Candy in the titular role as an irresponsible black sheep enlisted in desperation to babysit his brothers kids. From 1989 but it has aged pretty well. I like this film because I am the 'Uncle Buck' in my family. I also have a nephew who is the spit of Macauly Culkin. Scary.
'The Great Outdoors', I believe
Currently watching my two favourite shows;
The West Wing
Breaking Bad
Couldn't be more different but still live both of them. My wife and I always watch The West Wing between September and Christmas as a kind of ritual thing (and because there are so many episodes it takes that long!)
Paul.
The Martian
Well, very good, pretty accurate from the science point of view, dramatic, moving at times and a pretty good reworking of the book and yet..... it lacked ..... something :scratch: I think because it is so long, as a film, that the dramatic becomes hum drum and so there is a loss of impact. I also didn't get the, what would have been justifiable frustration, in not being able to explore that the film's circumstances created.
I also couldn't help but wonder if Andy Weir - the author - or the film makers, if they had know that Mars has water seeping to the surface at times (recent discovery) could have worked that in to add to the story.
Overall a good film that needs a bit of editing - if there is a longer version lurking out there, frankly that would be too much.
