Thing is, the power to weight ratio of jon's bike would make any Ferrari look agricultural, but the problem is (a) that all that power is trying to get to the tarmac via one patch of rubber no bigger than a beer mat, and (b) trying to keep the front end from going airborne. Apart from that, there's no car this side of a dragster or F1 which would have a chance :)

never understood the speed being the b all.. i prefer safety first, comfort second, speed third:lol:

A car with a shelf life of 135,000 miles, I don't think that's good enough. Our diesel Civic is almost exactly the same mileage and runs pretty much the same as it ever did. I'd be inclined to get a second opinion Dave.

typical lifespans are 5 to 10 years on the battery. The slower your mileage goes up the longer the battery will last. Newer batteries are getting better longevity wise tho.. at moment an average good one is about 150k

On the face of it that sounds ok, but not if it means 'uneconomical repair'. No one's going to buy a dead car off you, so, your next purchase is starting from scratch :( I don't see us touching one, unless it was a lease or Motability, then I'd be ok with it.

Yeah, exactly my thoughts... Still fun to try though, as some 'posh'/supercar owners can be right smug, arrogant bastards, and so something like Jon's bike would be perfect for truly embarrassing them!!:D:eyebrows:
