I cannot even get my homepage up.doh!
its been having problems all morning, either signs you out or cant load a page. If sunday is their regular maintenance day they shouldnt allow auctions to be finishing on that day.
Well I have a philosophical view on life these days. In the four years I've bought off eBay it's the first time I've had anything damaged. And it was due to it being wrapped in bubblewrap and a softgrade box opened and wrapped around it rather than a strong, rigid box. The fact that it weighs so much didn't help.Quote:

Worked on the cover with Duraglit yesterday and got an improvement over what it was like, but it still requires a lot more work. Will also have to come up with some way to disguise the split down one side of the cover and the crack on the other side. Thought of making a frame of speakercloth for it or some boarder design.

Geoff, is the underside of the platter damped? Mine has some residue suggesting it was. And do you use the original mat? I can photocopy the manual or send it to you if you would like to scan it.

Thanks Geoff. There's a bloke (iconic-audio) selling a quality Technics replacement for £37 which seems pretty good considering the typical price for a dust cover. I'll have another go and see how many more marks I can polish out and try to hide the split and crack at the sides and then decide on a replacement. Wonder how James got on with his cover.Quote:
