What is your reason for hi-fi?

In any case, emotion is all that counts in hifi : in that we all agree. The fact that we take different paths to reach it is less important, imho... ;)

I guess the more serious point I was making is that sometimes people strive for some romantic notion of achieving an 'emotional connection' and forget all about how real music is supposed to sound!!

Unfortunately investigations require either notes or memory; both of these tend to go awry with further investigation; catch 22?

Lucky bugger; there used to be (and may well still be) some good butchers in Wrecsam (Whoops ! Wrexham, I mean). Or are you a DIY man?
