If the BBC had auctioned off all their LS3/5As themselves they could've kept Jonathon Ross for another year.
Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

I'd rather have chewed my own arm off than sit through something as putrid as Johnathan Ross :eyebrows:
Pair of DM5s. No grilles though.

Probably the best presented set of LS3/5As I have seen: ex-review sample, complete with literature and original packaging. But £6,200 is an absurd amount to pay - there are plenty of BIN offers at between £1,000 - £1,500 a pair; and even those prices are too much.
Just what is it about the LS3/5As that commands these absurd prices? Is the BBC legacy, and if it is why don't other BBC designs fetch as much? Is it that the LS3/5As do offer the best SQ given their size? I don't know - does anyone?
This is the first time I've seen ancient Eagle stuff described as "audiophile" equipment. A more appropriate description would be 'knackered and nasty old cheapo separates'.

Oi - my first proper hi-fi setup was an Eagle system handed down from my father. Nothing wrong with it at all, although I will grant you describing it as "audiophile" would have been a bit of a stretch!
