Up next: Brilliant Prog band Gravy Train were [First two albums].. Doesnt take long to realise that these very early Prog band were a supreme force nay to be reckoned with.

Mike Oldfield - Songs from distant earth really showing some power with new dac huge soundstage
Another artist who to my ears does well produced stuff. Seal and his album system as not given this a good listen as yet. Do like his 7 album though.
Nice one but get that record off that radiator!Quote:

Interesting one this., from 1970 I think?
Tripped over it by way of a comment on a Lalo Schifrin Youtube video.
Gotta love Roon and what it does...

Good luck with the results Adrian.

Great album, the first three were. The version of "House on the Hill" is better than the one from their first album imho..Quote:

Here goes steve found one of the new recordings for you. I just have a problem with the snappy modern drum kit they have used on the tracks.. The Synthesizer is an issue with me too but i suppose it aint 1971 anymore

Do you know I found that quite unsettling and just wrong in so many ways... Appreciate the post though.Quote:

Can you now see why i wont entertain or go see old bands playing in new times? Everything about what was good back then is no more.Quote:

And I've said it before its about time their back catalogue was given the 180g treatment. Bet they wouldn't do a reish of the Grave New World Cover tho. That must have cost a few bob first time around.
I'll also admit to leaving before the end of Dr Feelgood and Colin Bluntstone in recent months but I was pleased that I gave them a go … if that makes sense. :D
Its was all about the sound of the time & the old instruments they used etc. Recreating the sound in modern times is utterly different atmosphere. Surely you can hear that in those new Ton Ton recordings..
Can you imagine how shit a re-issue of Grave New World Sleeve artwork/packet construction would be
I've seen some of your comments on simple to copy sleeves.... :sofa:Quote:

Mmmmm Nice
Neil: Youre the man. Great LP. Have a look at the credits that should be in yellow on the inside of the gate fold, i think the art was by William Neal who did Emerson, Lake & Palmer 'Tarkus'
Unless you have the later single sleeve Reissue!
Thru the post this morning on 7".. Their first single, it was never issues on a 12" single.. None album tracks, The 'A' Side however is on the original '81-'85' compilation album that came out in the mid '80's.. I only know three covers off the top of my head with Droste Effect, thats this, Pink Floyd 'Ummagumma' & Guru Guru 'Hinten'
