f1eng has been my handle for many years. It came about as I am an engineer working (now retired) in Formula 1 motor racing.
Before that (in the early 1970s) I did noise and vibration research, including a period in the R&D department at Garrard.

Hi - this is from an anecdote on the Radcliffe & Maconie Show on Radio 6. Don't think I even heard it right but the gist was: when giving your postcode over the 'phone for example and using (or not in this case) the phonetic alphabet. A guy said 'BN..' to which the reply was 'DN'..as in Delta November? Feeling under pressure and not knowing his P Alphabet, his rushed reply was - no "BN' as in errrr Barry Noggins! This tickled me - we have all been there I think and especially as my postcode ends in JT - the tempatation to say John Thomas is very strong!! BTW - this is told much better by the laconic Mark Radcliffe.

Hi Peter,
Would you mind going over to the Welcome section & starting a new thread to introduce yourself to the community please?
Perhaps you could tell us a little about yourself, your system & your musical taste?
This is a requirement for all new members as was pointed out when you registered.
It really is the best way of getting a warm welcome from the villagers!
Thanks
My intended username was 'esperowl' (as in the fake? or is it real? owl from Bladerunner) but I forgot to strike 's' on the keyboard - so I've managed to balls things up from the very start. cheers.
Buggering up your username deserves a special award
Done! Welcome to AoS, Chang. I hope you have some fun here :)
Marco.
