But what is it with people and coloured vinyl? I don't understand it. :scratch:
You are probably right in your analysis.
I, on the other hand, only buy records to play and not as an investment. And IMO any colour other than black would make cuing difficult.

I have maybe half a dozen or so on coloured vinyl, and none of them were bought deliberately. Just got them home to find them so. With the exception being Kraftwerk's "Tour De France" which came with blue and red discs. That's the one time I knew what was coming.
I haven't found coloured vinyl to sound worse, but then it hasn't been better. So I don't see the point other than it being a marketing gimmick.
The only one that sounds really terrible is Eurythmics' first album which has a picture printed on it, and the vinyl is really stiff like a 78. That is all but unplayable.
