Thanks Justin, I'll check them out too.
Yup, taste is as subjective as Hi-Fi and can start just as many bun fights ;)

The Nicaraguan La Bastilla Natural from Wogan is for my taste the best coffee I have bought anywhere.
I liked it so much that I promptly ordered four more bags but sadly that batch wasn't a patch on the previous one. I'll get in touch with them about it as they are very helpful.
LOL.
If it was just a minor difference I wouldn't make a fuss, but it tasted like 95% of the fruit flavours had been stripped out of it, just leaving a bog standard dull coffee.
Yup I have had that before from pretty much EVERY specialist online seller. Just use one for a good few months and you will spot it. HasBean used to really piss me off sometimes. Great coffee, re-order and get a dud.
To be fair it is a natural and highly complex product. Standardisation occurs with mass production and technology. So by Illy or the like if that is your highest priority.
The other thing is if it tastes rubbish either blend it or leave it open for a week or two. It WILL change and a lot of the time oxidation is a positive thing I find.
Most change taste a bit with every brew.
So many variables.
Anyway I have 500g of it so I'll post here what I think in due course. Last batch I had was really bloody good towards the end of 500g after it had time to breath.
If it was a single bag I wouldn't have been bothered but I liked the previous one so much I bought four.
I'm not about to start buying Illy though. Perfectly happy to accept some variation in style / quality but not to this degree ideally.
Won't stop me trying again.
