One is in my basket so you will need to be quick;). And has been for a few days.... Not decided on it or another gem yet and cant afford both.
Lol - had you spied that before I mentioned it? :eyebrows:
Marco.
It got sent to me by amazon as a interest but i balked at price after listening and went on to discogs and found a nmint one at less than half price. But i have another i was interested in and now something has popped up in my ebay interests that i may HAVE to go for so in quandry... Might have to sell something else lol.
Lol - well, matey, that's your decision. All I can say is that that version of Shosty's 5th is a total stonker. The rest is up to you. If do decide to go for it, I'd be nabbing the 'Unplayed' one from the Russian Federation :)
Marco.
Nope, I've not heard that Russkie one, Marco. Rozhdestvensky has always been a great conductor, and in his youth (like on that LP) he was a real firebrand.
I'm not surprised it's a good'un.
I'll not pay Big££ for an LP, but I'll keep my eye open in the charity shops. ;)
Interesting to know, Jerry. That passion certainly comes across in the piece, as a whole. If I get some spare time I'll see if I can 'needledrop' it for you (or Grant) ;)
Marco.
Not sure, but I suspect it's the same recording as on this CD.
Certainly the same orchestra and conductor.

If so, available on CD from Amazon for less than a £fiver http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...condition=used
Good shout, Jerry. I reckon there's a strong chance that it is :)
There's also a brand new one available for £27, if you don't trust some folk's idea of "Very good" condition: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000027Q3...oding=UTF8&me=
Marco.
£27 for a CD? Fook that.
zoverstocks at <£5 is always a reliable CD seller. :)
