Can't beat a bit of ZZ Top. :)
Pick this one up today in Antique/bric-a-brac shop on the way home form Street, Sue wanted to have a look around, to my delight there were several piles of records, some awful and some not so bad. This one looked filthy, bit no marks I could see, after a good Ultra-sonic bath clean it is like new and absolutely not surface noice, not bad for £3. I always had a soft spot for Billy Idol.

These days the only way to find decent vinyl in good nick and for a sensible price is by having a good look in antique/bric-a-brac shops. Mind you, you often have to wade through a lot of "tut" to find something of interest, and in my experience you are more likely to be successful with Classical music LPs (I think because those interested in this genre tend to take more care in handling them and playing them on a better than average record player).
Charity shops now use somone to research their stock and price them accordingly (often, it seems to me, to be regardless of condition) - which is understandable given they want to maximise their assets.
And as far as boot sales are concerned - I don't even bother to look anymore: most of the stuff is of no interest to me and is usually in dreadful condition. Anyway the 'vampire' buyers have usually hoovered up anything half-decent, consulted their record buyer's guide and sell it on at many, many times what they paid for it.
Another £2 bargain from todays outing, and NM/NM, I remember hearing it back in the day at a friends bit have not heard it in years.

Don't - I would want to buy up all of your Jazz and Blues LPs, just as my 'other half' is dropping hints as to my thinning out my music collection. And in getting rid of a lot of kit as well!
Oh, and DVDs as well. Women just don't understand these things. I can't even have my 'man cave', as she wants to turn into another bedroom!
