The only washers that are really bomb proof are Miele Professional (not their domestic models which are the same as all the other brands just with a higher price).

My old Hotpoint still going after 20 years and it was second hand so who know how old it really is. But only used once every two weeks.

I get it, it’s a fiver or so a month, so I’m paying for a new one every 5 years(ish), but I would estimate we have at least 2 call-outs a year, and it just is so much easier to log a call and get the bloke (it was a bloke) to fix it, or like they did with the fridge freezer last year when it was too bad, write it off and give me a new one. Anyway, it was the brushes, but he also said it could be the motor reaching end of life so he replaced the entire unit. It’s working fine now, and is about half the noise it was making before so that’s a win too.


We had more rain just as the washing was about dry, but not by the time I had got it in! Daughter also took the tent to a friends last night for a party sleepover and of course, for the first time in weeks it rained and the tent is now sodden in the boot of my car, so that’s another job for the weekend. Never rains but it pours. :D

16c with showers now and then

Sunny here, but only 12C, high today is supposed to be 18C. Rain forecast for tea-time.

A bit brighter today, 13 and dry so far

Cool morning, but sunny. Sat in a sunny spot in the garden with me posh coffee, felt warm enough to me.

What's a posh coffee, lol?

17°C, dry and sunny, and yes perfectly warm for enjoying breakfast al fresco.

Well I was brought up on Nescafe, so even diluted dog poo would be posh by comparison. Just cappuccino pods, but I like to think I'm being posh. Your coffee looks posher :) Even your jam butties look posh.

Lol... It's an Italian thing, I was brought up on lattes, cappuccinos and espressos, all freshly ground from beans from our local roasters ( https://www.thomsonscoffee.com/?gad_...SAAEgL5sPD_BwE ), so it's a habit for me:)

Robin, you should try Thomsons - they're in Giffnock, and they have a shop there, where you can taste before buying.
