Just had my Christmas grocery delivery from Tesco. I've got to know most of the drivers over the years so I do get looked after a little. The guy today was very early but they Know I don't mind. Almost everything I ordered was there with a couple of substitutions which were ok. There has been some very strange substitutions in the past though, one time I ordered blue lavatory cleaner and on delivery day it was out of stock so they sent...….blueberries. Anyway that's it, I'm all done, pressies bought and distributed, groceries stocked up and a Christmas project to make and replace all my interconnects with new cable and plugs. Merry Christmas to you all.:christmas:

Traditional 'stuff we/I forgot' last minute shop this morning, Nothing obvious: mouthwash, tomatoes, satsumas. Well, OK satsumas are obvious, but I thought we had enough in stock (as opposed to in stocking) then realised we were down to the last four. Not too frantic in our local Sainsbury's, but then it never is. I met one of the university lecturers there, who was staring in a zombie-like way at a jar of pickle.

We're already for Christmas.

Plenty of shops open today (Sunday) where we are in London, and being a somewhat cosmopolitan area there are plenty of Middle Eastern and Asian shops that will be open over the festive season. There is a Turkish supermarket about 100m away that is open 24/7/365, that is, it never shuts and sells a fine and wide range of fruit and vegetables at reasonable price. In fact they sell everything apart from (obviously) alcohol and pork-based items - but the Indian shops sell those.

Anyway, wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
