The man was mad to do that. It doesn't matter how big a cat is they are murderous predators, even my little Mia often looks at me as if she's calculating how long it would take her to " dispose " of me. :chainsaw:

I seem to have developed a bit of a crush.
Season 2 of "Legion" on Fox has just started, and I thought I would re-watch season 1 on catch up. I have to watch these at least twice anyway, to get my head around it. Worth it though, as the visuals and the soundtrack are pretty cool.
Anyway, a few minutes into episode one, there she is, Syd Barrett, played by Rachel Keller. There is a parallel universe where she is the Missus, I just need the right drugs to take me there, although they may not have been developed yet. :(
I'd put a pic on here if I knew how to, but I don't - sorry! But if you have time, and are able, watch the first episode and see what you think. But don't get any ideas - she's mine!
As stated by Lenny, a fellow mental patient, "Why are the hot ones always so crazy?"
best turntable ever made :eyebrows:https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0bfd611b1d.jpg
Tip - plenty of Lenor will keep your records from getting scratched :)
I'm using my Revox A77 listening to Miss Armatrading , with a beer :D:cool:'
It's not time for bed yet ;)
Old flames are a strange lot indeed... sexy yes... but
Just watched 'Wheeler Dealers' again. Mike brewer is such a tit! Why does he insist on doing that stupid bloody slapping handshake, does he think it makes him look slick? It's cheap and just plain rude!!
(and he knows bugger all about cars)
A rather intriguing post Bev. Care to elaborate, we're good listeners!
Most of my old flames are/were sexy, but ALL of them turned out to be mental. But when the crazy/hot ratio goes the wrong way it's time to become an ex (possibly resurfacing later as an old flame). Of course this is just a theory as I was always the one being dumped!
I sometimes wonder what became of my "first love". I haven't seen her since 1974. Now she WAS a nutter, but super-sexy too.
I keep in touch with an old flame. Known her since she was seventeen, she's in her fifties now. She a bit of a loose cannon, adores me though.
Loose CANON? I see what you did there, being into photography :D
Quite right. Now edited. Dunno how I missed that.
Talking of loose Canons, here's my new (second hand) one that arrived today.

Yes, that's a credit card it's on. It really is that tiny. Canon Ixus 100 IS. It's even got a viewfinder.
You could get four of these in a trouser pocket! :)
So no "negative" comments, like "f stop Geoff!"
No. She has a nice reciprocity factor. :)
What's all this fuss about some ginger bloke marrying Miss Marple?
You two crack us up :more:
I have a theory.
1. Prince Charles used up all his "little swimmers" making William.
2. There are some very smart people doing amazing things with genetic engineering. They can do almost anything for you if your pockets are deep enough.
3. The Royal family have enormous wealth.
4. Corgis are ginger.
I used to think of Charlie as an awkward bumbling buffoon. The only thing that has changed is that he seems even more of one now.
I'm making a point of keeping the telly off for now. There's nothing on that I want to watch!
I forgot it was the wedding. I suppose I've missed it now.
Don't see why they couldn't get married in the week like Katie and William, give us an extra Bank Holiday. Just thoughtless if you ask me.
Funny how women give affirmative nods as they tell you something. Blokes don't do it.
Consciousness does not occur within the brain, it is applied to it. One day scientists will give up trying to find it within the brain, and quantum theory will help provide the answers.
Leave my loneliness unbroken
I've noticed that none of the images I've ever posted here using tinypic seem to be displaying. Hope it's just a temporary glitch, that's a lot of pictures. I'm wondering if they might be doing a 'photobucket' on us. They do own tinypic.
I'm going with Mrs. Pony on a "nostalgia walk" tomorrow, to see where I used to go as a kid. Look for the trees I used to climb, the pond where we got tadpoles, and my name carved in places. It came to mind recently when I met someone I hadn't seen in almost fifty years. What he remembered was that I was the only one who could climb every tree in the woods.
I don't expect I'll be climbing any of the tomorrow though.
I took my girls there when they were 5 or 6, collecting leaves to identify later from books (no internet then). We saw an otter, the only time I've seen one outside of Scotland.
I'll probably find an Asda there now :(
I get that feeling every time I go for a pee.
I know I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment - I visited another of my old haunts a few years ago, and all the trees I used to climb had been felled and new trees planted in their place, which were no more than twenty foot bristles. Where's the logic in that?
There are currently a lot of new houses being built north of Preston, and it's awful. The builders are trying to give these soulless boxes a bit of character by chucking a few stone features at them, and will probably appeal to the sort of people who think the digital dash in their new car looks really cool.
Where are all these people coming from? I'm guessing a lot of them have not sold their old house, but are renting it out instead. Most of the houses in and near the town centre are rented. In a few years, when all the architectural 'features' have fallen off their new house, what will they do then? Probably rent it out and move on up the 'ladder'.
I go back to my childhood home area relatively frequently, as it's where my three siblings still live, and I often walk past my old primary school. I've been back to my old secondary school just once, against my better judgement, as we staying nearby for a family wedding and my wife and children insisted we go and have a look at it. Fortunately it was long enough after my schooldays that it just looked like a bunch of buildings to me. My niece works there now, and from what she says the school has improved considerably since my days; for one thing all the mad Irish monks have been pensioned off and the teaching staff are all secular. I've been back to my old university several times; partly for work-related reasons, and also because our younger daughter went to visit on an open day.
So, none of these visits have been for what might be termed 'nostalgic' reasons, and I hadn't built up any expectations about what the places might be like several decades after I lived/studied there, only to be disappointed by the reality.
I still live in same town where I did most of my growing up. Town centre has changed a lot I guess. Most of the buildings are still there but not being used much. Charity shops are now starting to leave as rent and rates etc go too high even for them.
My junior primary school is long gone; was an interesting victorian building built on a hill and in two sections. The senior primary is still there. Original Academy is now fancy flats, and the newer Academy as been renovated. The Catholic school is also long gone and housing built there. That was a two building affair built on two streets as well(hilly place this). That academy was not replaced in the town, but there is big new-ish one in a neighouring town a couple of miles away.
Ive lots of pics of the old town, where the Coop owned much of the properties and the town council was run by the owners of the small businesses.
I am presently living on the same land I grew up on. There was a 500 acre parcel next to us, some farm, some old growth trees, and many grassy fields. As a child I rode dirt bikes all over it! Every day of my youth, rain or shine me and a neighbor boy tore up those motorcycle trails at break neck speeds! If we didn’t crash 3 times a day we weren’t having any fun!
Now there’s a large subdivision there, full of cracker box homes all right on top of each other. In the Winter months I can see right into their back windows, why don’t people hang curtains on the rear of their houses anymore? Not that I’m looking. It’s all very sad really. There used to be a creek flowing back there, where it went I haven’t a clue? And in warm weather you can hear a lawn mower running every daylight minute of every day. There should be one agreed upon time for everyone to mow their grass. To preserve the peace.

Have you noticed that as areas 'evolve', trees disappear. Most front gardens around here used to have a decent sized tree or two. All gone now and block paving laid for parking.
our town got a whole lot bigger due to the railway being reopened after a break of many years. it now goes to glasgow and edinburgh, so thousands of houses were built to accommodate people from these cities to commute from. the town centre is still a barren wasteland tho, shops wise. supermarkets rule.
cars caused much of the problems too. everyone has at least one now, and many have 3. pretty front gardens have become parking lots
Talking of parking...I would like to go back to Battersea and have a drive around and stop at places that I knew until I left in 1976, however you can't park anywhere in residential roads without a permit...and even if you visit you have to have a permit obtained by one of the householders who have to supply documentation dating back to the Magna Carta :)
I wonder if Alan (Firebottle) has seen this. !!

This is going to cause trouble. I think Spain have made a big mistake.

Just been sat out in the garden watching the bats. Missus thinks I'm a bit mental, being fascinated by these 'ugly little freaks. I think they are another of nature's 'cool dudes', quietly getting on with it. Perfectly evolved to their chosen job.
Unlike humans, whose evolution has done no more than grow a bigger brain. In fact as the centuries pass, we become more and more suited to staying indoors.
Last summer the cat brought a bat into the house. How the hell she caught it I don't know.
Got up a bit early this morning (like old folks do) to spray some Nippon wasp nest destroying foam at this nest which seems to be inside the soffit by the front door. I gave it a blast for about 10 seconds, then quickly ducked back inside.
I don't have to leave the house for another 3 or 4 hours, hopefully they will have forgiven me by then :) All the same, I think I'll leave by the back door.
Wow, you were up early, I was listening to LBC at that time.
I used some Nippon stuff to clear a wasps nest many years ago, it worked, no further trouble.
